Amber, can you please tell us a bit more about yourself and how did you discover a love for modeling?
Yes, I have loved photography since I was a child. What I love most about taking pictures is that it gives me an opportunity to tell a story, create a scene or capture the emotion of a character.
At what point did you realize that you wanted to be a creative person professionally?
I was born a creative person. In my earliest years I was inspired by books, particularly the illustrations. They would inspired me to create my own imagery whether it be through drawing or photography. I am equally interested in being both behind the camera and in front of the camera.
Do you feel like you have a pretty good idea of who you are at this point in your career?
Yes, I am a story teller and an aspiring illustrator. Although I don’t think it took growing up to realize this.
If you could go back to the past, is there anything you would change?
No, I’ve endured many hardships but I would not go back and make life easier. Those hardships have helped me grow to be a better person and I could not be happier with where I am at today.
As a model, can you tell us what are the basic modeling rules everyone must follow to have a beautiful pose?
I believe in staying genuine. Pretending is okay too, and it has its benefits. But I find that my best work is when I am being genuinely me.
Has your perception of the modeling industry changed over time?
I guess you could say it has. At first, I thought the industry was about talent and what I had to offer, but it is so much more. The industry is about building lasting relationships. It’s about not about me and my abilities as much as it is about learning to work with others and collaborate with others. It’s very much a “people business”.
Describe your perfect day off when you are not modeling?
My perfect day would be best described as reading a book! Preferably and old book from the 1800s.
Which role does traveling play in your life?
I do not travel very much at all.
What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future?
The highlight of my career has been the relationships that I have made along the way! It refreshing to meet other creative professionals. I couldn’t ask for more!
