Tell us about the development process that culminated in the artist you are today.
I was always interested in art, since my childhood I was in oil and pastel painting classes. Growing up, I decided to study a career in Fashion Design. In the middle of my degree, I was invited to work in a modeling agency, there I learned what I am passionate about, which is coordinating fashion shows and doing editorial styling. Since then 5 years have passed.
How hard has it been establishing yourself in the industry and what are some of the largest things you've faced?
It is an industry where envies exist every day, few value your work and know how to recognize it. There you have to work every day so that your work is valued by everyone and thus be able to open the way.
I live in a complicated city for fashion and it is difficult to meet people who add to your career.
It is an industry where you have to be constantly updated, because otherwise you will be obsolete. Few people believe in you and those people are the ones you have to value.
If you could go back and tell yourself one thing before beginning your career what would it be?
What he would tell me is: "Never give up" is a heavy industry and you will run into bad people but that is just an obstacle, your work is worth more than what those people will say.
How is working in fashion different today than from when you started out?
I have improved too much, from the mistakes made at the beginning I have learned a lot and I continue to learn.
My aesthetic was different, my vision and the way in which I developed in fashion.
I did not have the resources that I have today, that is very important.
Are there particular issues within the fashion industry that concern you?
I am concerned that few people value the work of a fashion stylist. Few people know the great work we do and I think we deserve more recognition
What kind of impact do you hope to make in the fashion world?
I hope that my work is valued in my city to continue growing nationally and internationally. The world occupies young people, there are many like me who are looking for that opportunity.
How would you describe yourself at work in so many years of your career?
I define it as "Experimental". I have gone through several modeling agencies and each one has added something good or bad but has left me something.
What's the most important thing you want your potential clients to know about you?
I want them to see my versatility to adapt to any project. As simple as it is to the most complicated.
What has been the highlight of your career so far and what are your hopes/dreams for the future?
The highlight so far is having coordinated and produced a crazy fashion event. As well as having the opportunity to do a photoshoot with Melanie Villarreal, daughter of Alicia Villarreal (Singer)
