Larissa, how did your career begin in the world of beauty?
It started a couple of years ago when I first helped my sister with a photograph.
Looking back, how has make-up artistry changed or influenced you as a person?
I influenced me because I realized that it is something that I like and am passionate about, I did my studies in gastronomy, but the world of makeup gave me the power to feel more secure with myself and people and work on my self-esteem.
Why is having an MUA essential to a photographer? What can you provide to help a photographer's images stand out?
I think that we are part of a team at the end of the day; they both complement each other in ideas and work; our job as MUA is to give an impeccable result to the photographer so that he does not have a heavier burden in editing in a matter of the little ones details that at the end of the day correspond to us, do not leave mistakes when doing the makeup.
Why is shooting for camera and lights, different then everyday makeup?
You have to be much more careful in a specific makeup for shooting than a social one because the lighting causes the intensity of the makeup to be lower, and it is also essential to consider all the details and texture because in-camera is much more noticeable.
What area of the makeup industry is your favorite and why?
I love the area of FX; it is something I want to specialize in later; there are many fields to explore and incredible things to create.
Larissa, what is the most exciting or challenging opportunity you had as a freelance artist? What's the project you are most proud of?
All the projects that I have had with Angela are a great challenge for me; each time we demand more of each other to do incredible things, I feel proud of each of them because we put all the passion and dedication.
In your opinion, what are common mistakes you see women make on their makeup?
The most common mistake in everyday makeup is preparing the skin before placing the base; if there is no excellent previous routine, it can ruin all the makeup and give a sour finish.
What are your tips for maintaining a youthful appearance?
Drink much water, have daily and weekly cleaning routines; it is essential to be constant, use sunscreen, and use the ideal products for your skin type.
Can you tell us about a memorable moment you had while doing makeup?
In the first makeup that I did, I did not have much idea about all the techniques, but I am very proud of the result, and to this day, it has been one of the makeup that I have liked to do the most.
What do you think are some of the keys to being a successful makeup artist?
The best weapon we can use is to learn from evceryone, have that learning vision, and not stay only in one style; we must take advantage of everything we see and hear, try many types and products to know which is the best technique can use.
