To begin, can you please give us a little intro as to what motivated you to become a photographer?
For me, who is not good at drawing, the camera was the only tool that could create any image I wanted. I think it made me fall in love with pictures.
Minsuk, how would you describe your photography style?
I can't define my photo style yet. I still like photographs of various genres and styles. However, recently, we are trying to create an image in a direction that combines fashion and art.
What do you hope people take away from viewing your images?
I would be very grateful if many people who look at my pictures sympathize with every little thing in the image I create and get some inspiration.
Minsuk, how would you define "beauty"? What does it mean to you?
To be honest, I've never seriously thought about it. I think the standards and meanings of beauty will be too different for each person. It's hard to explain in words, but I'm creating something based on some beauty that only I can feel in my heart.
What is your retouching philosophy? And what do you think it delivers in the final image?
I don't prefer retouching as much as possible. I want to look natural without overdoing it. I think it will be a comfortable and friendly picture for others to see.
Do you have any practical advice to give the photographers who are trying to master reto
uching for their own photography?
I don't know how my advice will help because I'm not a successful role model in this field, but in my case, I practiced a lot to make it similar to the person who uses retouching I want to learn. I think it's a good way to practice alone because it's an era where you can get more information than you think through the Internet. And I think it would be good to take pictures and interact with people who exchange information.
What fascinates and motivates you most being a photographer?
The fact that I can actually create the image I imagine makes me excited every time.
What type of projects are dearest to your heart? Why?
I like projects that have some meaning in their images. This is because you can collaborate with artists in various fields other than photography. The feeling of creating an image together is so fantastic that it is hard to explain in words.
What is typically in your camera bag and what is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera?
Of course, my camera bag contains cameras and lenses, and other accessories that I often use and cherish will be filters. These days, I like Pro-Mist filters that create a cinematic feeling.
What projects are you working on next, and what are your goals for the future?
I am planning a project that can solve the same topic with various images. It is preparing to harmonize artistic objects and fashion. It's going to be a very long-term project and I'm looking forward to getting something out of it. If this project goes well, I would like to hold an exhibition or publish a book at the end.
Where can we see more of your works and get connected with you?
I upload the most images on my Instagram and that account would be the best way to communicate with me. @kimkkam_
