"There’s no better time to jump in on the trend and welcome 2022 with the right feet – and the right color. "
Dressing for the holidays can be tricky, especially if you’ve grown tired of sticking to the same formulas. The good news is that your tried and known standbys don’t have to be the only options. In some countries and cultures, wearing all white on New Year’s eve is a tradition, I know, but what if we changed it this year?
The color white symbolizes new beginnings, peace, and prosperity – people have been wearing it at New Years Eve for a super chic departure from your usual holiday attire – so I get it, it’s a great way to start the year. But do we really need more peace and quiet in our lives or is it time to want all things extra?
What I’m saying is: what better way to celebrate the world reopening after almost two years of Zoom meetings and small gatherings than by wearing bright and bold colors to everywhere? From influencers to designers and models, it seems like everyone is stepping out of the house in vibrant shades from electric blue to bright red.
We’ve seen beautiful, flowing gowns in shades of hot pink and red-orange, along with garments in lemon yellow and pastel pink. In runways and streetwear, every place currently looks like a joyous commemoration of color and light — the exact mindset we're trying to enter the new year with. There’s no better time to jump in on the trend and welcome 2022 with the right feet – and the right color.
