Chus:Photography for me is an art and a way of transmitting a concept, a feeling

Could you please briefly introduce yourself, and tell us about your first encounter with photography? Who has influenced you to start taking photographs?

My name is Chus. I am Spanish girl, currently live between Galicia and Ibiza.

The name of my page originates from the pseudonym F Ming that my father used as an artist. My first encounter with photography was when my mother gave me an analog camera. I loved taking landscape photos. As a child i kept pictures of magazines that i bought just to see like Elle, Vogue, I still have them. I became interested in fashion photography when I created my accessories brand @chusmunoz. I didn't want a conventional photo, I wished a photography that expressed a concept rather than the details of the design.

Sometimes I did the photos and sometimes other photographers do for me. I decided to study photography after confinement and work with my ideas and experiment with new concepts and practices. Undoubtedly, the one who has influenced me the most and has been decisive in my learning has been a teacher who, apart from being a professional photographer, is also an artist MARIA JOSE MAZOY (Mariqui) for her way of transmitting art in photography and photographic technique, the right way for to learn photography, and the great motivation that she transmits that makes you passionate about this art as much as she does.

I have also been influenced by ROD LEON photographer of London Fashion Week, who helps me with anything I need both technical details and materials, a great support I have in a profession where your colleagues do not always share their tricks with others.

From your point of view, what are the most difficult aspects of professional photography?

In these times we are saturated with information and images, the challenge is to get a photography that expresses something, that whoever sees it understand perfectly what you were thinking when you decided to frame that small portion of time and shoot.

Make a good composition too that everything is balanced,

Créate your own style or something that makes a difference.

As the expert you are, what are the unique features of this kind of photography and the keys to master it?

I consider myself a person that I learn every day.

The keys to mastering it,s to have a good taste, like and excite what you do, know the technique, try to transmit the concept and of course surround yourself with good creatives and professionals and practice a lot in different situations and improve day by day.

In your opinion, how beauty is perceived at the present age? What does photography mean to you personally and what really makes a woman or man beautiful?

The concept of feminine beauty has progress a latest years, something was beautiful before may not be so beautiful now and vive versa.

Different types of beauty are combined, which I like, nobody is perfect Doesnt it have to be as the canons imposed long time ago.

Photography for me is an art and a way of transmitting a concept, a feeling, an inspiration, an ephemeral moment. A latent image is something unique and unrepeatable.

It is a very abstract concept but for me someone really beautiful is one who has a beautiful soul, the body can be modified but the soul is something that transmits your true self, your essence

What type of models do you prefer to shoot with? Why?

I work with all kinds of models, professional and non-professional.

I like to catch up people anywhere and this person take my attention for something i like for to work with her or him. Obviously it's easier to work with models professionals because they know how to pose, but I also like to see the transformation of someone who doesn't do it frequently as their job. I think that there are models who do not know they are and that you can get their best essence if they fall into your hands and have the right attitude. I really like models with exotic Characteristics or with some kind of mix that suggests me something different from the rest

Are there any other photographers you lookup? Who?

I have several references. I really like the aesthetics of Albert Watson, Peter Lindbergh, Desirée Matson, Isabel Muñoz, Ansel Adams, Herb Ritts, The works of analógical photos of María José Mazoy, Juan Martín. Undoubtedly great ones from which to learn and be inspired.

You are going about conducting a photoshoot, could you take us through the typical planning process for your images?

Before the session i prepared the style and the type of photography that I would like and in which the model would fit. I look for the location where I would like to take the photos, sometimes I look for it first and fit the rest. I try to know the inspiration and history of the designer. I prepare a mood board with the general idea And i show to the team designer, make up artist And Model and we talk about what we are going to do and their needs and what I want to obtain. And i start to shoot. Many of my photos are improvised because I think it is more natural if you plan the photography completely.

I am also doing dance photography with the Amazing contemporary dancer JAVIER LOZANO @xabeplo and very soon with his brother DANIEL LOZANO of classical @daniel_lozanomartin. I shoot beautys of makeup ideas with MARIA AND EMPERATRIZ Makeup artist And entrepenaurs women @makeup_mary_

I do books for some models And test for @devamodels from Ibiza and also backstage photos of catwalks. ne of my goals would be to work as one of the Zara photographers in my hometown, I really like the style of photography that they are currently doing and obviously also with artists, designers and creatives who inspire me.

I,m going to collaborate with a gallery of artists that promotes photographers, sculptors and painters, in my case the part dedicated to photography.

I am learning a little more about product photography, and in the future I would like to travél for i will take my best snapshots as I am also passionate about social photography.

I would love to be able to buy the desired photography equipment in the near future and continue trying to give my vision and enthusiasm
