"We rounded up some of the coolest winter makeup looks and we’re ready to tell you how to recreate them"
Now that the chilly weather is right around the corner, there’s one big thing to look forward to: winter makeup looks. While spring and summer were all about light makeup, the drop os the temperatures call for looks that add a little more drama to your style. Fall will make the transition, but we have to be ready for winter.
Also, if the pandemic has turned your makeup routine into a skin care routine, the holidays might give you a few excuses to take your palettes and lipsticks out of the vanity.
We rounded up some of the coolest winter makeup looks and we’re ready to tell you how to recreate them at home.
Soft Liner
When it comes to eye-makeup trends, 2021 has been all about being subtler on the winged liner, and one of the go-to's takes on the trend is swapping your classic black liner for brown. Not only is it softer, it adds a touch of warmth to the look.
The Classic Cat - Eye + Red Lipstick
This combo will get you through every holiday party - and everything else you need to attend. Combining a bold red color with a not-too-long winged liner is all you need. But don’t forget: when going with bolder colors on the lips, it’s key to properly prepare it, so go hard on the lip balm!
Shimmery Eyes
After the glowy skin trend that took over 2021, makeup professionals are now using highlighting techniques to create the appearance of brighter, more awake, and more brilliant eyes. Replacing the classic cut crease and blended-out pigments, “eyelighter” calls upon gentler washes of shiny shades to achieve the same effects. It can be applied in any way you like and paired with any other thing you like: liners, lashes, dark lips. The most important thing is that what is used for the eye-look is icy toned and contains pearlescent pigments.
